Essential Oils might seem like a new craze. After all, most Americans hadn’t heard of them until recent years. You might be hesitant to get involved with oils when you consider that last diet, exercise, or supplement program you tried that disappeared after a while because it didn’t work.

The good news is that Essential Oils are definitely NOT A FAD. WHY? Just because oils are newish to Americans doesn’t mean they are new to the world. In fact, natural remedies, including Essential Oils, have been used for centuries in other cultures.

A whopping 80% of the world’s population uses herbal remedies and solutions, including Essential Oils.

The Egyptians used plant extracts all the way back in 3500 B.C. for health, food, religious, and beauty purposes. Oils were considered so valuable that they were treasured possessions for trade and even stolen from tombs.

The Wise Men brought gifts of gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh to baby Jesus. Spikenard, Cassia, Cypress, Cedarwood, and Sandalwood oils are also found in the Bible.

Plant materials have always played a huge part in health and wellness practices in places like China and India.

People were able to prevent the spread of plagues through the use of cleansing Essential Oils. It’s even thought that some were able to loot houses of plague victims without getting sick by applying Essential Oils to their bodies.

French physician Jean Valnet used Essential Oils on soldiers during World War II to treat wounds and infections.

As more and more scientists and health care professionals accept so-called “alternative medicine,” more and more are finally embracing the natural solutions that have been used since ancient times. The “Essential Oil FAD” isn’t going away any time soon!
